Paul A. Michalik

Paul A. Michalik concentrates his practice in civil rights and Section 1983 defense, personal injury defense, professional liability, and products liability. He is a litigator with significant experience in the defense of municipalities, municipal officials, police departments, and police officers in alleged police misconduct cases in state and federal courts. Paul has worked extensively in defending medical malpractice claims and toxic tort claims involving alleged injury from lead poisoning, asbestos, and pharmaceuticals. He maintains an active appellate practice.

Before joining Reiter Burns, Paul was a member of the Dykema law firm Litigation Practice Group, with over 27 years of experience in all phases of general litigation practice. He completed a two-year term as judicial clerk for the Honorable Allen Hartman of the Illinois Appellate Court, and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Donald P. O’Connell of the Circuit Court of Cook County while attending law school.

Paul has developed seminars and made presentations based on his extensive experience in representing police professionals and municipalities. He volunteers time to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
